MMS WAP Push

Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)

WAP is a method for sending information to and from mobile devices such as PDAs and mobile phones. In fact, WAP is the method by which MMS is sent between mobile phones. However, the capabilities of WAP far exceed that required for MMS and with current mobile phones having internet browsers rivalling that on your desktop, these devices can be used to access web based solutions that build on your existing back-end infrastructure, providing the functionality of your web site to mobile users.

WAP features the Wireless Markup Language (WML) which is built on the XML specification and provides a range of features seen in traditional desktop browsers including text and image presentation along with data input and hyperlinks. The processing in WAP-based applications is generally server-side, although very basic functions can be performed client side using WMLScript (a corollary to JavaScript). Greater client-side functionality can be provided with J2ME or Rich Client technologies.

Embrace Mobile's expertise in developing mobile applications and providing seamless integration with existing back end systems means we are ideally placed to incorporate the latest in mobile services into your existing infrastructure.
